Images of the construction sequence of a
subterranean 16" thick, two-way post-tensioned slab in Orange County,
California. A project by Post-Tension Design;
Upland, California. This project is
a 16" thick, subterranean post-tensioned mat foundation for
golf cart storage under a club house designed to
not only carry the rather high structural loads from the building above
but to also act as a cantilever footing for its lower level concrete block retaining wall.
Founded in medium to low density expansive soil, the two-way
post-tensioned, 0.6" dia. tendons allow the slab to distribute all of the
superimposed loads over its entire area.
